Finding Your Passion

there are so many people on the internet out there who talk about already knowing your passion and career choice in their gut. but a majority of people don’t know what they want to do. i am in that same boat and maybe i am still figuring that out even if i am currently a pre-nursing major.

when you’re in high school, depending where you go, there’s not a wide range of classes you can take to experience what you are interested in and it is rare for teachers to help you explore. and that’s the thing. the teachers and professors make the class what it is. even if student hated math with all their heart, a good and caring teacher will be able to make it fun and interesting for that student to enjoy it and take an interest in math. maybe even become a math teacher themselves.

on the other side, teachers honestly have so much on shoulders and it’s not like they can do it all. my point is though that i never thought i would enjoy science because it didn’t appeal to me like global health, volunteering, or even creative things like dance. however, the school year for me just started this week and honestly i didn’t think that anatomy would be interesting at all but the teacher makes it just a little more lively & it all kind of comes together. chemistry was a pain but that’s a whole different story. it’s possible that i’m just feeling positive because it’s the beginning of a new school year and i’m excited to make my notes all cute or whateva 🤪

but just as a mini reflection because i was over-stressing myself and had so much doubt about my future, it takes time to explore what u want to do and not everyone knows right away like how it is portrayed. people who are on youtube right now had “normal” jobs before too and switched their careers because something new popped up that they found worthwhile.

depending on the right circumstances, you will find what you like eventually. who knows, i could be in the totally wrong path right now and will have a total career chance in the future and that is totally okay. when and if that time comes, i’ll embrace it with open arms and i hope you do too.
